Today is National Stress Awareness Day! One of the biggest things I see in my practice is how stress and anxiety go hand-in-hand. Though they are two separate things, relieving stress can also in turn alleviate anxiety. (For 6 tips to reduce stress and relieve anxiety, check out this blog post.)
One great way to relieve stress is to practice (what I like to call) brain strengthening exercises. Getting yourself into the theta wave by doing meditation, self-hypnosis, or journaling etc. can have a really positive impact on your brain. So, as a gift on this National Stress Awareness Day, I am sharing a very short practice inspired by Thich Naht Hanh’s book Reconciliation.
